Sales Associate

Position Overview: As a Sales Representative at CGM Asphalt, you will play a key role in driving growth and revenue for the company by engaging with new and existing clients. Your primary focus will be on promoting and selling CGM’s full range of asphalt paving and maintenance services, including seal coating, crack filling, asphalt repairs, and new pavement installations. This is a client-facing role that requires strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of the industry, and the ability to create custom solutions that meet the specific needs of commercial, municipal, and residential clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and target new potential customers, including commercial property managers, developers, municipalities, and homeowners. Use a variety of tools such as networking, cold calling, and online research to build a robust pipeline.

  2. Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients. Understand their needs and communicate effectively to offer solutions that address their specific pavement maintenance challenges.

  3. Product Knowledge: Gain an in-depth understanding of CGM’s service offerings, including asphalt paving, repair, seal coating, and crack filling. You will explain these services to clients and help them choose the best options for their projects.

  4. Customized Proposals: Prepare detailed and customized proposals for clients that include timelines, pricing, and services offered. You’ll collaborate with the project management and operations team to ensure the feasibility of proposals.

  5. Negotiation & Closing Deals: Effectively communicate the value of CGM’s services and negotiate contracts that are mutually beneficial for both the client and the company. Your goal is to close deals that align with the company’s financial objectives.

  6. Market & Industry Analysis: Stay informed about trends in the paving and construction industry, including competitor activity, market pricing, and customer needs. Use this knowledge to adjust your sales approach and maintain a competitive edge.

  7. Customer Support: Provide ongoing support to clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring high satisfaction and retention. Respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and provide updates as needed to maintain positive relationships.

  8. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, field supervisors, and the operations team to ensure that projects are delivered as promised and meet client expectations. You will also be involved in pre-project meetings to align on timelines and deliverables.

  9. Performance Metrics: Meet or exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue goals, client acquisition, and project margins. Regularly report progress and adjust strategies to achieve your objectives.

  10. Event Participation: Represent CGM Asphalt at industry events, trade shows, and local business networking meetings to increase brand awareness and develop new sales opportunities.

Qualifications:

-Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the construction, paving, or related industries.

-Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required with the right experience.

-Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are essential. You should also be comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite to manage client relationships and reporting.

-Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and accountability to meet sales goals.

-Customer-Centric: Proven ability to understand client needs and provide solutions that exceed their expectations.
