At Afterlife AG, we’re transforming the way restaurants manage food waste and source premium mushrooms. We provide a unique, fully circular solution: collecting organic food waste from renowned restaurants, using fungi to decompose it at our farm, and selling high-quality mushrooms back to these same establishments. Our clients include top-tier restaurants such as Roberta’s, Two Boots, Tom Colicchio, Marcus Samuelsson’s eateries, and more.

We are a venture-backed startup with strong product-market fit and growing demand. Having sold out our first farm, we’ve expanded by leasing two additional spaces, significantly increasing our production capacity. Now, we need a driven Sales and Demand Generation Representative to help us expand into new markets and build on our success.

Job Description:

As a Sales and Demand Generation Representative, you’ll play a key role in driving growth and revenue by generating new leads and nurturing warm leads. Our founder will be closing the sale in person at restaurants. The role can grow into a closing role for the right cnadidate.

You will be responsible for selling both our organic food waste pickup and hauling service, as well as our specialty mushrooms to restaurants and food service businesses across New York City.

You’ll be working with the biggest names in the culinary industry, leveraging our existing brand equity to secure more clients. This role involves a mix of cold calling, email outreach, warm lead follow-up, and in-person sales, including door-to-door visits to restaurants. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for sustainability, excellent communication skills, and the drive to close deals.

Key Responsibilities:

-Generate new leads through cold calling, outreach, and networking in the restaurant industry -Follow up with warm leads and manage the sales pipeline from prospecting to closing -Conduct in-person sales visits to restaurants and food service establishments in NYC -Present Afterlife AG’s circular solution, explaining the value of food waste recycling and our premium mushrooms -Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients -Collaborate with the internal team to ensure a smooth client onboarding process -Achieve sales targets and drive growth by expanding our customer base

Compensation Schedule:

Compensation Schedule: This is a commission-based role with a flat 20% commission on all sales. Commissions are paid out monthly for up to 6 months as long as clients continue to order.

Earnings Potential: Sell 1,500 lbs/week (current capacity): Total monthly sales: 1,500 lbs/week * 4 weeks * $7/lb = $42,000/month Earnings: $42,000 * 20% = $8,400/month

Sell 4,000 lbs/week (expanded capacity): Total monthly sales: 4,000 lbs/week * 4 weeks * $7/lb = $112,000/month Earnings: $112,000 * 20% = $22,400/month
