Full Job Description

Our software business, Salesfolks, is looking for sales contractors such as account executives, business development representatives (BDRs), and other sales representatives to work directly with client organizations. This role requires you to initiate exploratory calls with prospects to see if they'd be an ideal customer. You will need to know the product and service offerings inside and out so you can communicate their purpose and value to prospective customers.

If the prospect is a good fit, you will schedule a discovery call or meeting for a member of the sales team and the prospect. It's up to the salesperson to deepen the relationship with the prospect and eventually get them to close. You may choose to simply queue up the prospective customer, or take the sale all the way to close.

As a business development representative, you will:

  • Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to prospects
  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer
  • Determine the prospect's interest in products & services
  • Schedule discovery meetings for sales representatives and prospects (or drive the sale yourself)
  • Achieve a meaningful set of outreach activities per day (e.g. outreach to 50+ prospects per day)

Required qualifications:

  • Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills
  • Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role
  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures
  • Interest in technology products, software, high-tech
  • At least one year of professional experience

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience reaching or exceeding daily activity goals/quotas (you must be a self-starter)
  • Familiarity with CRMs/technology and managing opportunities
  • Understanding of any industry verticals you chose to rep
