I've always been the "new kid on the block" due to an itinerant lifestyle. While many families move from city to city, we moved from country to country, growing up experiencing entirely different cultures every three years. The life of a Foreign Service Officer dependent is a many splendid thing; I am still very grateful for potable water from the tap, and dependable electricity. This has made me resilient, adaptive, and aware of the complexity of communication between cultures.
This has lead me to my career in the Army: I am a Civil Affairs leader. A Civil Affairs individual is accustomed to and proficient in working with different cultures, building understanding and cooperation in challenging real-world missions. I offer over 25 years of civilian and military experience building teams and completing projects of increasing significance and in progressively complex environments.
I now am working as a Business Development Representative, a profession that has much in common with Civil Affairs leaders. Much the same way the best CA leaders establish rapport, build trust and develop long-term relationships, a great BD representative must be the same in order to be a trusted partner.
I’m trustworthy, honorable, and loyal. I have a current Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
My why statement: "To synchronize the crew, so that together we can dig in and accelerate."
