Investment Analyst | Deal Origination & Strategy
About Vintage Stone Capital Vintage Stone Capital is an operationally-focused private equity firm (Independent Sponsor) targeting industrial platform acquisitions with $5M–$20M in EBITDA. We are not financial engineers; we are operators. Led by Partners with backgrounds from TPG, Incline Equity, and Baird, we deploy a proprietary "Unit Drive" operational thesis to modernize legacy industrial businesses.
We are backed by institutional debt partners and a committed bench of private capital. We are moving fast, and we are looking for a builder to join the core team.
The Role: Stop Modeling, Start Hunting Most Private Equity Analyst roles are 90% "Excel Hell" and 10% thinking. You sit in a basement formatting fonts and tweaking cells for deals that never close.
This is not that job.
At Vintage Stone, we have automated the financial modeling process. We don't need a spreadsheet mechanic; we need a Deal Hunter.
As our Investment Analyst, you will work directly with the Managing Partner and Partner to identify, contact, and qualify the next great American industrial company. You will be the "tip of the spear" for our deal flow engine, getting direct exposure to the art of the deal—from the first cold call to the signed Letter of Intent (LOI).
What You Will Do Proprietary Sourcing (80%): You will own the top of the funnel. You will identify family-owned industrial targets, research founders, and execute targeted outreach campaigns (cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn) to set up meetings for the Partners.
Deal Qualification: You will be the first line of defense, speaking with business owners to determine if they meet our investment criteria (EBITDA, margin profile, and seller motivation).
Automated Analysis (20%): Once a target is qualified, you will input their data into our proprietary valuation engine, research market assumptions, and assist the Partners in structuring the initial offer (LOI).
Who You Are Fearless on the Phone: You don’t need a script to have a business conversation. You are comfortable speaking with 60-year-old manufacturing founders with respect, empathy, and confidence.
Rejection-Proof: You understand that "No" is just data. You have the grit to make the calls and the resilience to keep going until you get a "Yes."
Financially Literate: You understand the basics of a P&L and why EBITDA margins matter. You don't need to be an LBO wizard from day one, but you need to speak the language of business.
The "Chip" on Your Shoulder: You are hungry. You might be a top performer from a non-target school, an ex-real estate broker who wants to break into PE, or a sales professional who knows they are capable of more. You want to learn the deal business from the ground up, not just be a cog in a mega-fund.
Why This Role Wins Direct Mentorship: You will sit virtually alongside Partners from top-tier firms (TPG, Incline). You will listen to live negotiations, strategy sessions, and diligence calls. This is a masterclass in Independent Sponsor deal-making.
No Grunt Work: Our tech stack handles the modeling drudgery. You spend your time on Strategy, Psychology, and Execution.
Unlimited Upside: We offer a competitive base salary plus an uncapped commission structure for every deal you source that leads to a closed transaction. If you eat what you kill, you will significantly out-earn your peers.
