Sales Job Detail Description
Role: Independent Outside Sales Consultant (Builder Channel) We are looking for an independent outside sales consultant to help us develop builder/contractor accounts and grow our project pipeline in the Bay Area and surrounding markets.
This is a proactive business development role. Your daily work will include outbound calls, lead follow-up, relationship building, and project coordination to move opportunities from first contact to order conversion. This is not a showroom walk-in sales position.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect and develop new builder/GC/contractor accounts (and related trade partners as needed).
Make outbound calls and outreach (phone/email/text/LinkedIn) to set meetings and qualify opportunities.
Understand project needs (timeline, scope, budget, product requirements) and coordinate next steps with our internal team.
Follow up consistently and maintain a clean pipeline: leads → qualified opportunities → quotes → orders.
Support project communication: updates, documents, basic coordination, and handoff to operations when the order is confirmed.
Track activities and pipeline in our CRM or shared tracker; provide a simple weekly update.
What Success Looks Like (First 60–90 Days)
Build a qualified lead list and establish regular outreach rhythm.
Set consistent meetings with builders/GCs and generate quote requests.
Convert early opportunities into first purchase orders and repeat conversations.
Preferred Background
Experience in B2B sales in cabinets, building materials, construction, kitchen & bath, or related trade channels.
Comfortable with cold outreach, follow-up, and long-ish sales cycles.
Clear communication, reliable execution, and professional client handling.
Existing builder/GC relationships in Northern California is a strong plus.
Working Style & Requirements
Self-managed and accountable; you own your activity and pipeline.
Able to do field visits/meetings when needed.
Must be responsive during business hours for key client/project communication.
Compensation
Flexible contractor structure depending on experience and fit (retainer + commission or commission-based). Details discussed after an initial call.
